Ganondagon is a state historical site depicting a Seneca village of the 17th century Iroquois nation. Located in Victor, NY, it has recently been home to Henslow's and Grasshopper Sparrows along some of its nature trails and fields.

Directions:

The NYS Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation maintains this location, and has a site describing Ganondagon here.

This park is sometimes birded, but not by the author. If you'd like to add to the description, you are welcome to do so. Please contact the webmaster at the address below.

Best Birding

Summer for breeding sparrows and warblers. It is largely unexplored in other seasons.

Warnings

This historical site sometimes holds large festivals, and generally is unproductive during those times. I am told that poison ivy is repvalent at this site.

Directions

Trips to Ganondagon ocassionally meet at the parking lot Boughton Hill Road (County Road 41) just west of Maple Street (County Road 3) south of Victor.
